2008 Brandon Carpenter Clinic Standing Rock Ranch is pleased to welcome
Brandon Carpenter and his "Herd Horsemanship Clinic"
to their facilities on July 12th and 13th, 2008.
The clinic topic will feature "Getting More From Your Horse's Gait". It is designed for all breeds of gaited horses. For more information about Brandon please click here, or visit his website Hashkife Horses. Clinic highlights include:
Conformational influences on gait
Mechanics of various gaits
Reading a horse's gait
Cueing for the best gait
Evaluation of your horse's gait
Using gait to increase responsiveness
Correcting common mistakes
Riders in the clinic are limited to ensure individual attention and safety, however the clinic also allows for auditors who will have prime seating and may interact with Brandon during the classes.
Clinic fees are $225.00 per rider and horse for both days and $50.00 for auditors. Admission includes lunch each day.
Brandon is the true clinician for those of us who are primarily interested in asking for and receiving the very best from our gaited mounts while traversing the scenic trails. His "clinics are structured to ensure participants get individual instruction to address specific issues they have with their horse".
For registration, please contact Deb Julien at Standing Rock Ranch by calling 406-656-2549. Stall or pen boarding is available.

Nearly 40 owners and riders of gaited horses participated in the two day clinic focusing on achieving the most out of themselves and their equine partners. Subjects varied from ground handling, bits and their function, show techniques, to rein, leg, and seat aids. Participants auditing or sitting out on a session were treated to a "ring side seat" in the center of the arena with Nicole.
Nicole Carswell's nearly 25 years of experience and leadership in the Tennessee Walking Horse Industry makes her a facinating and enlightened spokesperson and clinician for the breed. Her knowledge and teaching ability were well accepted and applied by the riders. Combine that with her quick wit and a good dose of southern charm and we were hooked.
Pictured are participants in the clinic and Nicole with Kay and John Gonitzke of Standing Rock Ranch.
